1. Tell us about Viedahnzon.

Viedahnzon creates craft products for everyday use inspired by traditional Korean motifs. We focus on producing high-quality items that reflect the beauty of Korean culture and our concern for the environment. Among Viedahnzon’s major products include the black hat strap chains for glasses featured in MBC’s Dopojarak: Story of Homme the K-Wanderer, the Korean Headwear Series pens, and tablet pouches inspired by traditional Korean high-class furniture.

2. How did you come up with the Korean Headwear Series pens?

Wanting to contribute, even in a small way, to preserving and developing Korean culture, we initially created glasses straps inspired by traditional hats called gat. This led us to develop the Korean Headwear Series pens, playing on the homophones like “gaseul sseuda (wearing a hat)” and “peneul sseuda (using a pen).” Eventually, we expanded the series to include five pens to showcase various aspects of Joseon life.

3. I heard that the hats and clothes were all handmade.

We wanted to showcase Korean traditional culture as authentically as possible, so every bead was threaded, and every thread was connected by hand. It made every stitch precious. I would say that we strived to express every detail, no matter how small or delicate.

4. What challenges did you face while planning the award-winning product?

It felt like I was creating something out of nothing, and the challenges involved many failures, costs, and time. The production process was difficult, but the memories of happiness after completing the product remain more vivid.

5. What did you learn from the contest, and do you have any stories you’d like to share?

Participating in the contest was nerve-wracking and slightly stressful at each stage, but watching other contestants and their impressive entries was motivating. The judges’ questions and observations during the interviews provided valuable insights into areas for improvement.

6. Do you have any other series or plans for the future?

We’re continuously working to maintain the quality of our current products and also planning to expand our concept to develop a range of new products
