1. Tell us about Wonway.

We specialize in aprons and wine covers, as well as other decorative and gift items based on hanbok. It is also used as a tourist souvenir and group souvenir and has been exhibited and sold at the Milan Expo and Dubai Expo. Our main products include dangui (semi-formal jacket) hanbok aprons, multicolored aprons, and hanbok wine covers.

2. What inspired you to create the award-winning product?

For the sake of the beauty of the hanbok and its commercialization and practicality, we designed a hanbok with a simple and concise image to continuously cherish the memories and beauty of Korea in real life.

3. Were there any difficulties in creating the product?

There was no difficulty in planning and producing prototypes, but it was difficult to manage inventory and consignment fees in distribution. We aim to build a practical market environment by unifying our distribution channels both online and offline for cost efficiency.

4. What was the aspect you focused the most on within the product development process?

Our handmade products are designed to be unique and modern. We sought to create Korean beauty with various fabrics and colors.

5. What did you learn from the contest, and do you have any stories you’d like to share?

We would like to be very active in various events and projects with the Korea Tourism Organization and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, as well as sponsorships and donations.

6. Tell us about your plans for the future.

We aim to create accessories using various hanbok items like the gollyongpo and military uniforms. We will also be creating hanbok items using fabrics inspired by traditional clothing from around the world.
