Studio oll Co.,LTD is a creative studio company of craftspeople dedicated to making the finest furniture with great care.

2. Why did you decide to incorporate traditional Korean instruments?

We think of craft as the art of making aesthetic embellishments for everyday use. While conceptualizing smartphone-related products, we came up with a product that would emotionally amplify the sound of smartphones without using electricity by applying the principle of sound amplification from instruments such as geomungo (six-stringed zither) and gayageum (twelve-stringed zither).

3. What was the main focus in designing the award-winning product?

The design takes inspiration from the shapes of the Korean alphabet and considers the usability of smartphones. That’s why it’s designed to hold phones either horizontally or vertically, allowing users to watch videos while using the product.

4. Were there any difficulties in planning the award-winning product?

The Ollim Speaker is an eco-friendly craft that is both decorative and convenient, amplifying and emotionally transforming the sound of your smartphone without using electricity. With these advantages, it has been marketed domestically and exported to countries like Japan, France, Switzerland, and the United States. Promoting it aggressively abroad remains a challenge for our small enterprise. However, continuous efforts are being made to overcome these limitations and expand our market reach.

5. What did you learn from the contest, and do you have any stories you’d like to share?

6. What are your future plans?

The Ollim Speaker is an eco-friendly craft and has been exported to Japan, the United States, Switzerland, Ireland, etc. by foreign buyers interested in eco-friendly products. Due to the modest scale of our company, we’re keen to grow our export business, though such opportunities are few. If the opportunity arises, we would like to actively participate in international trade fairs to broaden our global market presence and boost our exports.
